Mia's in 3rd grade and she just loves to write all kinds of stuff for her BLOG, magazines, the school newspaper, and the yearbook. She also loves adventures, acting crazy with her friends, and driving her dad crazy too when he's trying to watch soccer on TV! Her favorite food is Hamburgers with french fries and ranch dressing (don't tell her Mom). She also loves her dad's carne asada. Not a big fan of Brussel Sprouts.
Muchacho is the world's all-time greatest punisher-of-bullies that ever lived! His powers came from a magic "golden" papaya from deep in the jungle near his village. He wears a sombrero with tassels and gems and all sorts of colors. His sarape is special too. It isn't just to look cool or keep him warm, he also uses it to fly and he whips it around to knock the bad guys down!
Victoria is best friends with Mia. The two of them are quite the pair: Mia loves to write while Victoria loves to read. Victoria is not quite as adventurous as Mia, but sometimes Mia convinces her to come along anyway. Victoria HATES bugs and loves to eat plain tortillas. What does she like to read you ask?...If it has words, that's good enough for her!
Anton is the groundskeeper at the Pyramid. He's always good for a story or a song or a prank, but he doesn't like whining! He's kind of a wildman since he's always stomping around the jungle, which is probably why he gets along with kids so well. He knows everything about the pyramid and the jungle and he loves to talk about them around a campfire.
This is not a nice fellow! He came from the big city to a little Mexican village in the jungle and made all the villagers work to make him even more rich then he already was! Then he told his kids that they couldn't play with the poor village children and THAT'S when Muchacho Spanky said, "No more!"
No one knows his real name, but Big Toe fits him pretty well. He's a bully if there ever was one! He makes sure that Mia and her friends know that HE'S in charge and that anything he wants...he gets! But will he get a visit from the greatest punisher-of-bullies of all time?...I sure hope so, because he's mean...Did you know, he doesn't even like butterflies?! Come on, already!
Mrs. Gomez is Mia's camp leader. She's pretty stern but she's always fair with the kids. She doesn't laugh a whole lot, so when she does laugh, you feel pretty good about it! She thought this was going to be just another sleep-over at the pyramid, boy was she wrong!...
Eduardo is the camp daredevil. He's built like a little boulder and he has absolutely no fear! He'll climb on the roof, swing from vines, scale a pyramid, or whatever! Sure, he gets into trouble sometimes, but he doesn't mean anybody any harm, he just has an adventurous spirit. He's so brave, even Mia, thinks he's crazy! Don't turn your back on him at meal time or he'll swipe your food -- being a daredevil takes lots of energy!
Celia is the youngest adult, you'll ever meet (she's Mia's age)! She just loves to be in charge -- always organizing stuff, giving directions, and lecturing (even about stuff she doesn't really understand). She's not mean or anything, she just has a very strong personality. Mia and her friends like Celia, even if she is a little bossy.
Ramón is the quiet kid in the camp -- just goin' with the flow. He's tall and skinny with shaggy hair. Mostly he just bobs his head and says, "Cool." His one passion is soccer, and he's really good at it. In fact, his soccer ball never leaves his feet. He'll even dribble through the jungle and up hills! At night...yup, he sleeps with his ball!
This kid is so skinny that a sneeze might knock him over, but he has a mean streak a mile wide! He always listens to Big Toe and he always listens to his earphones at maximum volume, so don't even try to talk some sense into him, because he can't even hear you!
If there were a class in how to be a bully, Bulldog would get an "A" (Only Big Toe would get an "A+"). You know when your mom told you not to frown because your face will stay that way?...It's true, because it happened to Bulldog!
Maricela, God-bless-her, is one of the early heroes of our story. It is said in her village, that her heart is so big that it knocks her off balance, and that is why she's such a klutz! Klutz or not, she's still the best guitarist in the village and nothing will stop her from doing what's right when the bad guys show up. I almost feel sorry for that wicked ¡El Presidente! because he doesn't know what he's up against! Hold on...okay, I don't feel sorry for him anymore.
Mousy Mr. Bravo is the leader of the other camp -- the "Bad" Camp. Mr. Bravo isn't really such a bad guy, he's just way too into his phone to pay enough attention to his kids. With a little help (like someone throwing his phone in the river) he could be a good camp leader, if the bullies don't tie him to a palm tree first!
